It's not always easy figuring out how to break the ice in the first e-mail you send to someone who's caught your eye online. So we asked online dating users for some great ways to break the ice online and this was the response.

Soooo.......tell me a true story?! That's always a winner I find. People like when you want to know about them. Or, give me your life story in a nutshell! That works great. Everybody likes talking about themselves and this way they are free to ramble about whatever they want!

It's hard enough to flirt with someone you're interested in offline; how on earth do you flirt when you're dating online? It's not nearly as natural an act. What turns a woman or a man off and on when it comes to communicating on the Internet? If you're looking for dating, love, and maybe more. You need to be active online, this will increase your chances at all of the above.
It's important to read there profiles. Find out what makes them tick, What are there interests? Mention something you both have in common? Ask a questions?
Contact as many people that interest you as you can!
having a sense of humor is a big help too....after a serious conversation...
superb list but i must say that i need to be active at every step.
some situations are very funny.
